The Polo Bar did not disappoint! I've been wanting to go here for a while and so glad I was able to snag a reservation. We had an early reservation at 5:30pm, classy ambiance, the staff were welcoming, and the service was great. As for the food, the pigs in a blanket and corned beef sandwich is a must have. I thought the burger was ok. The cocktails were refreshing. The highlight was definitely the dessert, the brownie with walnuts, homemade vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate sauce was mouthwatering. It was a perfect date night and I would definitely come back.

Returned after several years to a still great experience though not enough for 5 stats to counter the annoyance of getting a reservation. My friend and I shared the Dover sole and the veggie burger, both great. The salads are also very fresh, and the popover bread is great. Don't miss getting dessert, which is a staple here.

The Polo Bar is tough to get a table at, but I was fortunate enough to get in recently after it's been on my list for years to try! The burger was good, but not any better than some of the other well-known, easier spots to get into. Serving sizes were quite large, so I left feeling very full! I will say service was top notch - very attentive staff!

One of those places that needs to be on everyone's list . Hard to believe that this space only exists for 10 years , it definitely feels like one of those old school pre war establishments. The obvious burger was fantastic the branzino excellent, but the real fine (cut it!) dish was the corned beef sandwich. Avoid the roasted cauliflower, pretty lame . But , have the fun brownie to finish . Great service obviously. Highly recommended!!!! Definitely a destination!!!

The Polo Bar is one of the restaurants in NYC that is difficult to get a reservation. We luckily had Amex concierge get us a reservation one month in advance. This restaurant offers a pleasant one-time experience, especially if you're already based in NYC. Here's a breakdown of our meal: The tuna tartare was fresh, solid, and delicious--a strong start to the meal. The bone-in ribeye, a well-seasoned, classic American-style steak, was enjoyable, though I personally favored the peppercorn sauce over the chimichurri. Thankfully, you can request both to compare. The creamed spinach, while initially flavorful, became a bit too rich after the first bite or two. For dessert, the special blackberry peach crostata was good, with the ice cream adding a lovely complement. However, the puff pastry left something to be desired, lacking in seasoning. As for the Rose Royals cocktail, it didn't stand out. Its flavor felt slightly watered down, though it certainly packed a punch later--perhaps deceptively so. The ambiance was exceptional, exuding an "old money" charm, and the service was highly attentive without being overbearing. I appreciated how they pre-split our dishes for sharing and gave us the space to enjoy our evening undisturbed. Overall, a worthwhile experience if you're looking to indulge in a classic NYC evening.

Ralph Lauren's exclusive Polo Bar. Reservations are difficult to get but we were able to secure one by calling two days in advance (hoping for a cancellation). The vibes here - immaculate. Horse paintings everywhere but done in a very tasteful way. The restaurant is dark with oak furniture and so classy. Perfect for a date night or dinner with business partners. Everyone here is dressed formally or in business attire. No photos or videos are allowed of the inside dining room for privacy of the guests. As elegant as the environment was, I thought the service and food was a step below. We arrived early for our reservation but were asked to wait about 20min past our time for our table. We sat in the polo bar lounge, which was fine, and were able to order drinks and enjoy the room. The service for the rest of the night was just okay - not notable. We simply received our dishes on the table, without even a name of the dishes or any explanation which was kind of odd. The server just... dropped off the plates like "here you go". The most ordered, famous items on the menu are burgers which...is a bit of a contrast to the classy environment. The burgers were quite good though, but definitely just a burger - patty, bun, onion, lettuce, cheese - at the end of the day. Other items we ordered were okay, and I'm not sure if I'd order them again: crab cake, fries, carrots, creamed spinach. However, I really liked the ice cream sundae we ordered for dessert. It seems pretty popular among diners. If you take away the ambiance and the history, the food and service don't have much to stand on honestly. But diners come here for the whole package and the sensation of dining in luxury. For the whole experience and the feeling of exclusivity, I give it a 4 star.

Ambiance and service were 5 stars. It was all it was cracked up to be. The only slight is that we were a party of two and were told up front that our table had a reservation and that we'd be time restricted. With the quality of the service, they should be able to control the flow of food / drinks to clear tables when they need them and I didn't enjoy this warning shot before we had sat. The food itself was quality albeit expensive. The apple pie dessert and pop up bread were the stars of the show. Creamed spinach was also enjoyable. Steak was cooked to proper temp and quality. Pigs in a blanket were very good. I was expecting more from the pastry and thought it was an underwhelming accompaniment based on the quality of the pop up bread. We enjoyed the seasonal vegetable (Roasted Cauliflower) as an appetizer alongside the pigs in a blanket. Would consider returning but likely won't go jumping through the hoops we did this time to secure the reservation on my own. Would recommend to others but you're definitely pay for the "experience"

Definitely worth the difficult reservation. We lucked out on a table for 4 day of by calling at 4pm to check for cancellations. We live on the same street so it wasn't difficult for us to wrangle a couple friends and walk over. We started off with drinks and snacks at the bar on the upper floor. Once our table was ready, we descended the stairs to a gorgeous dining room with dim lighting, wood trim, and polo-themed artwork. We shared everything family style so we could try a little of everything. We started off with the complimentary bread and butter and ordered pigs in a blanket. For our mains we got the New York strip steak, Ralph's corned beef sandwich, the polo bar burger and the burger special of the day. We added on mashed potatoes and sautéed garlic spinach as sides. The standout dish was by far the corned beef sandwich in which the beef was sliced perfectly thin and the marbled rye perfectly crisped. Everyone agreed it was the best corned beef sandwich we've had in the city. Highly recommend this spot if you're up to the reservation challenge!
